So, I was messing around, checking out the characters, and got stuck on Yinlin. I saw her in action, saw that thing she uses, and thought, hold on, what exactly is that thing?
It didn’t look like a sword, or a gun, or anything obvious, you know? Kinda floats around her, looks flashy. My first guess was maybe some kind of magic focus? Or like, a weird high-tech whip? Hard to tell sometimes with these character designs.
I spent a bit just watching her animations, trying to get a better look. Went into the character screen, poked around the menus. You know how it is, sometimes the game just tells you straight up, like ‘Weapon Type: Sword’. But sometimes it’s buried, or the name itself is weird.
Figuring it Out
So I did the usual thing, just started digging around a bit more. Looked through the equipment sections, checked the descriptions for the items you can give characters. Eventually, I landed on it.
Turns out, the weapon type Yinlin uses is called a Rectifier.
Yeah, a Rectifier. Sounds kinda technical, right? Not like ‘wand’ or ‘staff’. From what I gather, it’s basically the game’s term for a catalyst or a magic tool. Characters using these seem to be the magic-user types, focusing energy through the Rectifier to do their thing.

- She uses it for her electric-looking attacks.
- Seems to be the go-to for ranged elemental characters maybe?
It reminds me of way back when, playing older RPGs. Sometimes you’d get a weapon type that made no sense until you saw it in action or found some lore about it. Like, what the heck was a ‘Gunblade’ supposed to be the first time you heard of it? It’s kinda fun figuring out the unique bits of each game world, even if it’s just a weapon name. So yeah, Yinlin? She’s rocking a Rectifier.
