Alright, so you wanna know about them Russian fellas fightin’ in that UFC thing, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know, though I ain’t no expert, ya hear? It’s all that punchin’ and kickin’ and wrestlin’ stuff, like a big ol’ barnyard brawl, but with rules, I guess.
First off, there’s this fella, Khabib Nurmagomedov. They call him “The Eagle,” like he’s gonna swoop down and snatch ya up! He ain’t fightin’ no more, retired or somethin’, but he was a big deal. Lightweight division, they say. That means he ain’t one of them giant fellas, but he was tough as nails, lemme tell ya. Wrestled them fellas like they was rag dolls. Folks say he was born in 1988, so he’s still a young’un, but he done quit that fightin’ life.
Now, the UFC, that’s the place where all these fighters go to show off their muscles and such. It’s a big to-do, like a county fair, but ‘stead of prize-winning pigs, ya got fellas beatin’ the snot outta each other. They got fellas from all over the world, but we’re talkin’ ’bout them Russians, right? Well, the website, or whatever it is, says they got about 20 of them Russians still punchin’ and kickin’. More than 600 fighters from over 70 countries! That’s a whole lotta folks wantin’ to scrap, ain’t it?
One of them Russians, they call him Aleksei somethin’. Don’t rightly remember his last name. This fella, he’s been fightin’ since 1997! Can ya believe that? Been at it longer than some of them young’uns been alive! He joined up with the UFC in 2013, so he’s been around the block a few times. Twenty-five years of fightin’! That’s like…well, that’s a long time, I tell ya what! He must be tough as an old boot, or crazy as a loon, maybe both!
- Khabib – He done retired, but folks still talk about him. Quick with the takedowns.
- Aleksei – Old timer, but still goin’ strong, they say. Been fightin’ since forever.
- Lots of other Russians – Don’t know their names, but they’re out there, punchin’ and kickin’.
They got different weights and such, like in wrestlin’. Lightweight, heavyweight, all them weights. Khabib, he was lightweight. Aleksei… I dunno, maybe he’s heavier now, all them years of eatin’ and trainin’, ya know? It’s all a bit confusing if ya ask me.
So, them Russian fellas, they’re a tough bunch. They train hard, they fight hard, and they win some, they lose some. Just like life, I reckon. Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail. Them UFC fellas, they’re mostly the hammer, I’d say. They seem strong fellas. Always in good shape, runnin’ and liftin’ heavy stuff. Kinda like workin’ on a farm but they get paid a whole lot more and don’t have to muck out no stalls.
I seen some of them fights on the TV once, when my grandson was visitin’. Lord, it was noisy! All that yellin’ and grunting and thumpin’. And them fellas, they get all bruised and bloody. Makes me think of that time ol’ Bessie kicked me in the shin, only a whole lot worse. Don’t understand why they do it for a living, but I guess it’s a job like any other, just a bit more…violent.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about them Russian UFC fighters. They’re tough, they’re strong, and there’s a whole bunch of ’em. If you wanna know more, you best ask someone who knows more than an old lady like me. But I told ya what I could, didn’t I? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.
One more thing, it’s important to remember this fightin’ ain’t for everyone. It takes a special kind of person to get in that ring, or whatever they call it, and let someone punch you in the face. It ain’t my cup of tea, that’s for sure. I’d rather be bakin’ a pie or somethin’. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
