Okay, so today I wanted to dig into the player stats from the Phoenix Suns vs. San Antonio Spurs game. You know, just to see how everyone did. First, I needed to find a good source for the stats. I went on a few different sports websites and grabbed the raw data. This part was pretty straightforward, just copying and pasting really.
Once I had all the data, I started organizing it into a spreadsheet. I made columns for all the important stuff like points, rebounds, assists, you name it. It was a bit of a mess at first, all these numbers jumbled together, but I got it sorted out.
Cleaning Up the Data
Next, I had to clean up the data. There were some empty cells and a few inconsistencies that needed fixing. Like, sometimes a player’s name would be slightly different between sources, so I had to make sure everything was consistent. I went through and manually fixed these little errors. It took a while, but I wanted to make sure I was working with accurate information.
After cleaning, I started calculating some additional stats. I figured out each player’s field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage. Just some basic math using the raw numbers I had gathered. Nothing too fancy, just dividing one number by another.
Analyzing the Performances
Then came the fun part – analyzing the performances. I looked at who scored the most points, who grabbed the most rebounds, and who dished out the most assists. I also checked out the shooting percentages to see who was really efficient with their shots.
- Points: I found out who the top scorers were for each team.
- Rebounds: I checked who was dominating the boards on both offense and defense.
- Assists: I saw who was setting up their teammates the most.
- Shooting Percentages: I looked at field goal, three-point, and free throw percentages to see who was shooting well.
I even compared players from the same position to see how they stacked up against each other. It’s always interesting to see how different players contribute in different ways.
Finally, I put all my findings into a nice, organized table. It made it super easy to see all the key stats in one place. I mean, anyone could look at it and instantly get a good sense of how each player performed in the game. And yeah, that’s pretty much it! It was a bit of work, but I learned a lot about how the players did in that Suns vs. Spurs game. Maybe I’ll do this again for another game sometime soon.
